Le 11 specie note di questo genere sono state reperite nell'mwdgAfrica meridionale: 9 di esse sono state reperite nella mwdwRepubblica Sudafricanacite-ref-lycosidae-1-0[1].

L'aracnologo Russell-Smith, in un suo lavoro del 1981, sinonimizzò mwfwChaleposa mwgaSimon, 1910, con questo genere, utilizzando però come valido, in modo erroneo, mwgqChaleposa, che è la denominazione più giovane cite-ref-lycosidae-1-1[1].

Non sono stati esaminati esemplari di questo genere dal 1995cite-ref-lycosidae-1-2[1].
